Beautiful footage of my beautiful campus in some of its earlier years.

Emily Wells
Beautiful Sleepyhead and the Laughing Yaks

Last night I saw Emily Wells live in a tiny little auditorium at Scripps. A “band” from the one of the 5Cs opened. Their fake voices and incorporation of performance art were beyond laughable. An hour after the advertised starting time, Emily Wells took ahold of the stage and kept me in a musical trance for the next two hours. She admitted that the set list was long for a concert but that she loved our school so much she was willing to do it. Throughout the night she played every instrument imaginable including violin, percussion, ukulele, and a breath powered accordion. She was accompanied by her bassist, Joey and one of those crazy things that lets you play one thing then the machine repeats it while you play something else. That’s probably the technical term for it. Most of her songs were off record and many will be on her next album. If you’ve never listened to her I highly recommend investing.
I love my modern dance teacher.
She has danced with Bella Lewitsky, Merce Cunningham, and who knows who else because she’s so humble she doesn’t even talk about it.
She always knows when I’m unhappy and and exactly what to say.
She’s my new Moses (not the one that parted the red seas).
Anonymous asked: hihihihihihihihihihiihihihihihih :):):):):):)::)))) i am not going to be anonymous! Hi emily this is maggie!!!!!!!!! How are you doing? Are you going to keep your hair long? because i really like it long. What's your favorite class so far? Why do i have to wait until winter break to see you because that is a lonnnnnggggggggg time :((((( anyway thought i'd be your first non-anonymous question! Love you!!
Thank you for the question margaret!
I don’t know what I’m doing with my hair but it’s long now and I’m glad you like it. I really like my classes. Modern and Ballet are my favorite but I really look forward to all of them. I think it’s a serious problem that you have to wait until winter break but I don’t know how to solve it. Love you too! :)
Tuesday Night Snack …
… is a terribly wonderful thing. Tonight, after having two desserts with dinner, I ate a bowl of lucky charms, a bowl of cocoa puffs, two chocolate chip cookies, a bowl of fries, sipped a glass of milk, and chugged a cup of sprite. College, I love you and your fucking fattening food.
Anonymous asked: How's life at Scripps?
Thank you for asking, but I would love to know who you are!
Life is great and Scripps is truly paradise. I had a slight mental set back last night and this morning caused by boy troubles, dance troubles, and medication troubles, but now that I know what’s going on it’s all going to work out.
I’m not sure what you want to know. I’m taking two dance classes, ballet and modern and love my teachers. I have Core which is a basic freshman class, intro to psych, and a writing class on documentaries taught by a raging hippie. I have a job working in the office that plans events, so I’m hoping to run into famous people. Parties are crazy and themed, and I have yet to pay for alcohol, which is a major plus. My lovely friends from corvallis visited! And I ate sushi for the first time! So much is happening, but if you want to know more I would love to hear from you, whoever you might be.
I don’t really understand the broke college student thing. I really don’t have the need to buy anything. Three weeks in and I have bought:
- Cereal
- Cheez-Its
- Emergen-C
- Shoes from Delias
- A Garden State Poster
- Baby Farm Animal Window Decals
And now I’m working, which means I’ll have more money to not spend! Yay life!
Hello Lovelies!
I’ve been inexistent for too long, but I was having too much fun galavanting in the wilderness to post anything. Also, riding space mountain over and over. There’s this new/old thing at Disneyland called Captian EO. Pretty much it’s a 3D show where Michael Jackson saves our planet by singing. I have to say it was the highlight of my life. No, but really, see it.
Scripps is beautiful as always but hot. It was 107 yesterday and 102 today, which was also move in day. So you can imagine the sweat. But I love my roomies and everything is good :)
Oh, little update, I had a melt down during outdoor o and went back on my meds. Just thought that it would be a good precaution for the first couple months. I’ve been perfectly extra bubbly, so no flattening side effects yet. I can only hope.
Corvallis to Claremont - Day 2
Food. I love food. And Scripps is known to have the best food on the 5C campus. I think it’s menu will be the end of me. Here’s a little sample of what they serve at Malott Commons:
Artichoke Caprese with Parmesan Crisps
Blackberry Walnut Cookies
Double Chocolate Kahlua Ravioli
Fillet Mignon with Prosciutto and Mushroom Tapenade
Orange Almond Florentines
Pumpkin Soup
Strawberry Gazpacho (pictured)
Tuna and Salmon Marinated in Sake
Sweet Potato Pumpkin Tart
Roasted Red Pepper Aioli
